26 video game machines confiscated in Angeles – Sun.Star Pampanga!

ANGELES CITY — Acting on the complaints of concerned parents, Cut-Cut Barangay Chairman Robin “Mr. Bong” Nepomuceno ordered the confiscation of 26 “illegal” video games during a raid last Tuesday evening here.

Nepomuceno, accompanied by Barangay Councilmen Juanito Dayrit, Edwin Bundalian, Emerencia Sigua, Noel Pineda, Billy Bautista and members of the Bantay Bayan, conducted raids on houses in Barangay Sitio Mali; Maligaya St., Peter Village, Magnolia St. and Bagong Silang all located in CutCut.

The chairman said he received a letter of complaint from concerned parents regarding the “illegal” operation of video games near public schools and depress areas.

Nepomuceno said aside from the letter, he and other councilmen have also received text messages pin-pointing the location where the video games are operating.

He said such video games are only “legal” in Barangay Balibago where a city ordinance has been approved allowing these machines to operate, since it is the entertainment capital of the city, adding that other areas where these video games can operate are in malls.

Nepomuco said he will not tolerate the operation of these video games in his barangay, adding that operators have not been given permits from his office. The illegal video games were brought to the barangay hall for proper disposition.
