Senior citizens get P.3M rehab ward as Valentine’s gift

Posted by Michille on February 14th, 2007

IT WILL be a very memorable Valentine’s Day for the city’s senior citizens this year.

Mayor Celso Lobregat officially turned over to the Zamboanga City Medical Center (ZCMC) the newly renovated senior citizens’ ward, which will serve all medical needs of those 60 years old and above.

“This (turn over) is timed as a Valentine’s gift for our senior citizens,” Lobregat announced.

The turnover was highlighted by a mass and the blessing ceremony both presided by St. Joseph parish priest Msgr. David Alonzo. The P300,000 funding was part of the regular budget for 2006.

The senior citizens ward is jointly manned by personnel from the City Health Office under Dr. Rodel Agbulos and the ZCMC.
