Peru seeks RP partnership in IT, agro-industry, tourism

Former Peruvian president Alejandro Toledo has urged the Philippines for joint business partnership in IT, agro-industry, fishing and tourism stressing these are labor-intensive industries that would help both developing countries reduce poverty.
Toledo, who came from a poor family, earned an MBA at Harvard and served as World Bank economist and steered the economy of Peru out from poverty, said that bilateral trade has been very low with annual bilateral trade averaging million in the past few years despite the several similarities of both countries.
