Air Terminal-3 ‘rolling opening’ deferred again

Posted by Michille on April 30th, 2007

By Fel V. Maragay

The opening of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal-3 will be delayed further after aviation experts found structural flaws that are more serious than what was earlier thought.

Because of this, the opening of the Naia-3 has been moved to early 2008, instead of this year, said Transportation Secretary Leandro Mendoza.

Originally scheduled for completion in 2002, the inauguration of the air terminal has been repeatedly postponed. In the latest timetable, a “rolling opening” was set for this month. Rolling opening means the various airline companies will move by batches from Naia-1 and -2.
