Medy and Lupita K. not only ones who ride with Arroyo

MANILA, Philippines — Well-known television director Lupita Kashiwahara said Sunday she was amused when she heard opposition Sen. Panfilo Lacson say that she and presidential aide Remedios “Medy†Poblador were the only ones allowed the privilege of riding in the presidential car with President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
Kashiwahara, who serves as the media consultant of the President, said Lacson got his information all wrong when he made the disclosure at last week’s new Senate probe of the “Hello Garci†controversy.
On the contrary, she said, many Cabinet members had ridden in the presidential car with Ms Arroyo.
Likewise, in the President’s provincial sorties, local officials ride with her from the airport to wherever they are going, according to Kashiwahara, a sister-in-law of former President Corazon Aquino.
