Leap year-born people celebrate b-day today

For only the 11th time since she was born, Nida Mangalindan celebrates the day she was born – Feb. 29.
Being “only 11 years old,†she is “younger†than two of her four children – an 18-year-old girl and a 13-year-old boy. She also has two very young children – a girl, aged five, and another girl, born four months ago.

to be stumped – Be stumped no more! Being "stumped" comes from the pioneering days when the land was cleared to lay down train tracks. When the workers came across a tree stump, it would cause a dilemma or "to be stumped."

The citizens of the United States of America have loudly proclaimed that the United States is the land of the free. A new report would suggest that this is not so compared to all of the other nations of the world.
A new study shows that more than one in one hundred residents of the United States is in prison. That is in excess of one percent of the population. an incarceration rate which exceeds that of every other nation in the world.
The mandatory sentencing guidelines of the federal justice system as well as mandatory sentencing in state courts has been cited as responsible for this high rate of incarceration.
The drug culture and the high rates of crime associated with it not withstanding, it is a disgrace that a nation should put so many of it inhabitants in jail. Remember your principles America. Become the land of the free again!
