MANILA, Philippines - A US-based businesswoman who once linked Sen. Panfilo Lacson in a controversial purchase of handcuffs worth P50 million has accused Malacañang of having a hand in concocting charges against the opposition lawmaker.
In her exclusive report in GMA’s 24 Oras, Maki Pulido said Blanquita Pelaez named Maj. Gen. Delfin Bangit as the one who ordered her to drag Lacson in a legal turmoil in the US.

18 dogs saved from butcher in Nueva Ecija

Government investigators and animal welfare activists have rescued 18 dogs from the butcher’s knife in Nueva Ecija, using a new law with stronger provisions against the country’s illegal meat trade, an official said yesterday.

Palace treats FVR with kid gloves despite scathing remarks
Despite his veiled comments and blunt criticisms on the current administration, Malacañang still considers former president Fidel Ramos as a “friend” and “ally.” It said his statements in the past few days only reflect his concern for the welfare of the Filipino nation.
