Govt cuts transport fares

Dealers roll back LPG rates, as oildips below $60

In a double whammy but one evidently favoring ordinary Filipinos, the government on Tuesday rolled back transport fares and oil dealers slashed their gas prices in their apparent response to the latest drop below $60 a barrel in world oil prices.

Still, President Gloria Arroyo urged oil companies to further reduce their pump prices back to July 2007 levels to reflect the latest plunge in global crude prices.
