Drug charges vs Nora Aunor dropped
The country’s one and only “Superstar” Nora Aunor walked out of a Los Angeles Airport courthouse on Monday a free woman after an LA judge dismissed drug charges filed against her.
Judge James Dabney dismissed Aunor’s drug possession case after she completed an 18-month drug rehabilitation program.
In his ruling, Dabney said the guilty plea will be withdrawn and the case dismissed. He added that Aunor’s arrest will be stricken from the record.
Aunor, Nora Cabaltera Villamayor in real life, was arrested at LAX in March 2005 after police found eight grams of methamphetamine and a glass pipe in her bag.
Aunor pled guilty but the court judgment was deferred.
Aunor was required to attend the drug rehabilitation program and report to a probation officer for the past 18 months. She also had to pass over 40 drug tests.
Lawyer Claire Espina earlier said she is confident that Aunor’s case would be dropped by the court. With a report from Joseph Pimentel and ABS-CBN North America News Bureau
