Airlines should use passenger tube: PB

THE Provincial Board (PB) committee on tourism asked the Davao International Airport Authorities to make it mandatory for airlines to utilize the passenger tube.

This suggestion was made during the committee hearing Friday on the complaints that a certain airline makes its passengers walk on the tarmac instead of using the tube.

DAVAO CITY, Philippines—“Nobody wanted this to happen.”

That was the only statement that Corazon Donato gave reporters when she was asked about the death of her British-Australian boyfriend, Philip Andrew Aitken.

Donato, 30, was arrested last Wednesday for murdering Aitken, 45, and burying his body in the front garden of their rented house in Guadalupe Village here.

Artica as a crematorium?

IT MAY not have any coliseum fit for a decent major event, but Davao City may just end up with the biggest crematorium in the Philippines, if not the world.

That is if Davao City Administrator Wendel E. Avisado’s comment in last Monday’s Kapehan sa Dabaw at SM City Davao is to be taken seriously when asked whether the city is still willing to make use of the mothballed Artica Sports Dome in a lot donated by the Uys to the city.

Rody orders village chief to block rebels’ entry

DAVAO City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte ordered all barangay chiefs in the city never to allow the entry of Special Partisan Units (Sparu) of the New People’s Army (NPA) in their barangays.

The Sparu is the one assigned to assassinate people as ordered by the NPA hierarchy.

DAVAO CITY — “It’s a choice between being paraded in media or ending up dead in Davao City,” was Mayor Rodrigo R. Duterte’s reaction to a police order against parading suspected criminals.

“Mamili ka, papatayin kita or display kita? (You choose, I will kill you or I will display you),” Duterte said on how he would treat criminals.
